2 armed men connected to 2 incidents
Early Friday morning, deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriffs’s Department responded to a burglary in progress with two gunshots reported at 506 Anderson Rd., Martinsburg.
While deputies responded to the victim, identified as Jeffry Hanan, he said he was unable to run to a neighbor’s house to call 911 and his friend, James W. Seely may still be inside the residence that two unknown males had broken into after firing shots into the door.
Deputies C. Farmer and M. Buracker and Lt. R. Gardner cleared and secured the residence upon arriving at the scene. Members of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department and Criminal Investigative Division and Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent crimes Task Force members were notified to assisted with processing the incident.
Shortly after the burglary, two unknown males in ski masks and dark clothing were reported robbing the Marlow 7-Eleven off of Williamsport Pike in Falling Waters. Sr. Tpr. Schuessler and members of the West Virginia State Police responded.
A task force member and Lt. Harmison also arrived to assist the officers who were already on scene.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department and State Police believe the two incidents are connected. The suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous. The investigation is pending further information.
