Goodwin announces academy nominations
Sen. Carte P. Goodwin, D-W.Va., has announced his nominations for the United States services academies for the freshman class entering July 2011. 32 students, from 15 counties were selected to compete for appointments.
“I am proud to nominate such an exceptional group of students from West Virginia to the United States service academies,” Goodwin said in a release. “I wish these students every success as they begin this endeavour in service to our great nation.”
U.S. Air Force Academy
William Dorman III, son of Bonnie and Chip Dorman II, from St. Maria Goretti High School in Washington County, Md.;
Kenneth Ryan Knight, son of Kenneth and Juanita Knight, from Jefferson High School in Jefferson County; and
Kristofer Knotts , son of Kevin and Angela Knotts from Hedgesville High School in Berkeley County.
U.S. Naval Academy
Dennis Dibbern, son of Dennis and Marsha Dibbern, of Washington High school in Jefferson County;
Robert Andrew Rickli, son of Bruce and Rexanne Rickli, from Berkeley Springs High School in Morgan County; and
Mitchell Doepker, son of Paul and Susan Doepker, from Bishop Walsh High School in Alleghany County, Md.

Jacob Shadle, son of Scott and Jackie Shadle, from Jefferson High School in Jefferson County.
