Ethel and Jerry Mauck, of Shepherdstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 31 with a dinner/dance reception at Barron Hall of the Shepherdstown Fire Department.

The couple were married July 30, 1960, at Willow Dale Farm in Shepherdstown, where Jerry worked for Jesse Frye, father of the bride. The Rev. John Grissinger officiated.

The couple have five children, Jesse Mauck of Charles Town, Scott Mauck of Harpers Ferry, Lamar Mauck of Martinsburg, Daryl Mauck of Kearneysville and Stephanie (Mauck) Custer of Shenandoah Junction. They also have six grandchildren, Jessica Springer, Brian Mauck, Aaron Mauck, Ann Fraley, Tyler Mauck and Kyle Custer; and one great granddaughter, Shannon Mauck.

Jerry retired from 3M after 33 years of service. The couple reside at Moler Crossroads and enjoy fishing, taking drives by the river and going to Nutter’s and Krumpies.

The reception was enjoyed with family and friends from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. A special dinner was prepared by Mary K. Sencindiver.
