Shepherdstown Music and Dance will host a “Fiddle Summit” at 8 p.m. today at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church.

The group’s annual program boasts a variety of fiddle styles from across the world.

This year’s concert will feature Irish fiddler Joe DeZarn, who grew up playing fiddle in eastern Kentucky; old-time fiddler Joe Herrmann, from Paw Paw, W.Va.; Bruce Sagan, who will play selections from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe; duo Donna Hebert and Max Cohen; and U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion Elke Baker.

Baker will be accompanied by Liz Donaldson on piano, Ralph Gordon on cello and bass and Ken Kolondner on hammered dulcimer.

There will also be workshops offered over the weekend at Shepherd University’s student center and surrounding churches and buildings. For more information about the workshops, visit www.fiddleretreat.info.

Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for SMaD members and $8 for students. SU students with an I.D. get in free.
