Organist Dorothy Papadakos to perform at local church
Historic Christ Reformed Church welcomes back internationally acclaimed organist Dorothy Papadakos.
She earned her master’s degree in organ performance from the Julliard School of Music and for 13 years has served as the organist of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, the world’s largest gothic cathedral.
Papadakos will entertain visitors with organ demonstrations, Charlie Chaplin Silent movies and popcorn beginning at 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Following the organ demonstration, a pizza buffet will be served.
The Rev. Ronald Grubb explains in a recent press release that “visitors will enjoy a traditional Advent choral Eucharist accompanied by thrilling organ improvisations. Christ Church practices open communion, meaning christians of all backgrounds are welcome to participate.”
Christ Reformed Church is located at 304 E. German St. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted.
