SMC Christmas Bazaar a great success thus far

By Staff | Dec 3, 2010

The Shepherdstown Men’s Club Christmas Bazaar benefited greatly from the festive mood that prevailed on German Street over the three day post-Thanksgiving weekend.

Unprecedented and cheerful throngs of people enjoyed the activities that launched the 2010 Christmas in Shepherdstown season.

The bazaar’s location in the War Memorial Building in the heart of town didn’t hurt.

“Many (vendors) nearly sold out and had to scramble to keep their displays fresh and inviting,” said Mike Austin, SMC president, in a press release.

And Austin said the bazaar is “just getting started.”

The Christmas Bazaar will expand from one to two floors for the remaining three Saturdays.

To complete the holiday setting, Terry Tucker, a local musician and recording artist, will be performing from noon to 2 p.m. on the second floor. Her two CDs will be available for purchase. Capt. Bender’s from Sharpsburg, Md. will be providing hot food and beverages to hungry shoppers.
