Designer to bring works to club for bazaar

By Staff | Dec 10, 2010

Award-winning jewelry designer/mask maker/artist, Teddy Shea, named “Best in Show” at the 2010 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, will bring her traveling boutique to the Shepherdstown Men’s Club on Dec. 11 and 18 as a participant in the annual Christmas Bazaar.

Having trekked to 44 craft shows in eight states during the past year, traveling more than 10,000 miles, Shea will end a very long season with her appearance in Shepherdstown where her unique gemstone wirework jewelry, masks, hats and oil paintings will be for sale.

“I started making jewelry because I could never find anything I liked in the stores; then it occurred to me that other women maybe feel the same way,” Shea said in a release. “I think I have found my niche in a very glutted jewelry market just by making pieces that I would wear and offering them at affordable prices.”

Shea founded Shea Wolfe Designs in the French Quarter in 1993, where she sold masks in the French Market seven days a week. She moved to the Eastern Panhandle in 1995 and branched out into oil painting and jewelry design soon after.
