Waterfowl watching trip set for Saturday
The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is sponsoring a waterfowl-watching trip in Jefferson County Saturday.
There is no fee and anyone is welcome to participate.
The trip will visit several spots along the Shenandoah River and some local ponds to look for waterfowl wintering in the area. Species that may be sighted include Gadwall, Pied-billed Grebes, Hooded Mergansers and Ring-necked Ducks.
Participants should plan to meet at 8 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Martin’s Supermarket in the Jefferson Crossroads Shopping Center off Route 340 just east of Charles Town. Carpools will be arranged from there.
