On Saturday, Grapes and Grains, the premier wine shop in Shepherdstown, will offer a unique wine tasting with candies from the 1800s, with original ingredients, primarily made from original recipes.

“We’re so happy to hosting this unique tasting with the folks at Cool Confectionaries, who produce the 1800s candy and are based right here in Shepherdstown,” said Cheryl Gallery, proprietress of Grapes and Grains, in a press release. “They know about the ingredients, the history, and even the culture behind the candies. And the tastes of their products are surprising and delicious. What better fit for as time honored a tradition as wine tastings.”

Cool Confectionaries will be at Grapes and Grains from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday offering samples and the chance for visitors to purchase single items as well as jars, bags and boxes of their historic treats.
