Dorothy Elizabeth Hott
Dorothy Elizabeth Hott, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at her sister’s residence under the care of the Hospice of the Panhandle.
Hott was born in Jefferson County on March 23, 1928 to Christian Davis Carter and Daisy Devolia (Dailey) Carter.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; one sister, Jean Carter Leatherman; and two brothers, William Carter and Robert “Bobby” Davis Carter.
She is survived by her daughter Karen L. Nick and her husband, Richard, of Harpers Ferry; son Christian F. Hott and his wife, Beth, of Harpers Ferry. She also had four grandchildren, Ashton Nick and Matthew, Emily and Hannah Hott. She is also survived by five sisters, Rosalee Talley, Anna Louise Moler, Betty Carter, Gladys Carter and Christine Carter.
Hott retired from Canterbury Center as a housekeeper. She had been a long-time member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Molers Cross Road.
The services were held at Bethesda United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010. Dr. Parker Hinzman presided.
Internment was at the Pleasant View Memory Garden.
