Mecklenburg Inn to exhibit local, regional artists pieces
In January, the historic Mecklenburg Inn in downtown Shepherdstown, renowned for its live music and wide selection of beers, will begin exhibiting art work by local and regional artists on the walls of the bar and lounge. Each artist will hang approximately six to eight pieces, usually for about six to eight weeks. The works will also be for sale, with all sales handled directly by the artists with no commission to the Meck.
Meck owner George Moody said in a release, “The Shepherdstown area has artists who need places to show their work. We have wall space and we have customers who enjoy art. I thought the Meck could help.”
Artists who are interested in exhibiting should contact Dane Konop at dkonop@aol.com or at 304-876-3628 for details.
Located at 128 E. German St., the Meck is a full service bar, restaurant and hotel, open seven days a week from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. The bar, lounge and hotel rooms are smoke-free, with smoking permitted in the outdoor garden area.
