RANSON – As part of a continuing effort to expand and enhance emergency services at WVU Hospitals-East’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital, effective Jan. 1, 2011, Emergency Medicine Associates (EMA) will provide physician staffing for the hospital’s emergency department.
EMA has staffed community hospital emergency departments in the Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C., areas since 1971. EMA is a practice of optimum size that offers the local, personalized attention of a small organization while creating and supporting innovative healthcare related programs and initiatives.
“Our clinicians deliver exceptional care to patients in our hospital communities and are dedicated to providing quality care and customized services,” Jackie Pollock, CEO of EMA, said in a press release.
EMA physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners deliver exceptional emergency services care and are dedicated to achieving high ratings on all quality care indicators.
“The expanded physician and mid-level staffing that EMA will bring to JMH will support this effort by reducing patient waiting time and improving patient satisfaction,” said Dr. Christina Coad, chief administrative officer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, in a press release.
