Keep the resolutions this year and be rewarded

By Staff | Jan 14, 2011

New Year’s resolutions often include hollow promises to take better care of oneself. It may last for a few weeks, even months.

One local business woman is offering an incentive to keep your resolution all year.

Hannah Kaufman, a licensed massage therapist, works out of the Lotus Skincare location, 121 W. German St.

Kaufman is offering 20 percent off subsequent massages if you pledge to do monthly massages. A customer books their first appointment and pledges to come on a monthly basis. Book a second appointment and receive the discount on the second and subsequent massages.

“Going for a massage is like a week’s vacation without the packing,” Kaufman said.

A variety of massages are offered by Kaufman.

The Swedish massage relaxes the whole body and calms the mind using long gliding strokes toward the heart. Kaufman offers a half hour at $40, one hour at $65 and one and a half hours $90.

A hot stone massages uses smooth water-heated stones to provide deeper muscle and tissue relaxation. The heat increases circulation flow and speeds metabolism which, in turn, releases more toxins.

One hour is $80 and one and a half hours is $100.

Prenatal massages are done to relief the discomforts of pregnancy and promote better sleep. One hour is $65 or one and a half hours is $90.

Sole homage is a way to say thank you to your feet. A warm aromatherapy footbath is followed by an exfoliating scrub and then a half hour massage for $45. Or you can add a simple soak and scrub foot massage to any of the above massages for an extra $12.

“Massages provide stress relief, help release toxins and increase circulation,” Kaufman said.

Kaufman has been practicing since 2005. She has been open at the Lotus since August 2010.

“Reward yourself with a massage,” Kaufman said.

Kaufman can be reached at 304-876-1900 or 304-995-7935.
