Voces8 to perform Feb. 25
The Friends of Music will present Voces8, the international award-winning ensemble, Feb. 25 as the first FOM concert of the new year.
The concert will be held in the Frank Arts Center Theater at Shepherd University at 8 p.m. Voces8 has established itself as the foremost young British a cappella group performing repertoire ranging from early polyphony to unique jazz and popular arrangements.
D. Mark McCoy, Ph.D., chairman of the Shepherd Department of Music and conductor of the Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, said in a press release, “Voces 8 brings a refined vocal mastery to our stage that will serve as an excellent model for our students and provide a thrilling night of great music for our devoted audiences – a great night, not to be missed.”
Voces 8 is sponsored by Scott Beard and Alan Gibson and is the first of five remaining performances of the FOM 2010-2011 concert season.
The Friends of Music is a non-profit organization that promotes musical excellence by supporting music programs and music education at Shepherd University and by enriching our community through the presentation of outstanding musical performances and opportunities for music education.
