Jazz Festival Concert to feature John Fedchock

John Fedchock
The Friends of Music is advancing spring with a festival of jazz and the sounds of world-class jazz artist, John Fedchock. The FOM Jazz Festival Concert with John Fedchock will take place March 5 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Arts Center Theater on the campus of Shepherd University.
Mark McCoy, chairman of the SU Department of Music, said in a press release, “This is a concert not to miss. I love the jazz guests, not just because they are great players, but because we see our students on stage, performing with them, learning from them, live right before our eyes.”
Fedchock emerged on the New York jazz scene 30 years ago and has since established himself as a world-class trombone soloist and band leader. His multifaceted talent has earned him a Grammy nomination for his arrangements and led him to become a premier jazz artist. The quintessential authority on NY Jazz, Jazz Review called Fedchock’s music ” incomparable trombone playing, which seems to have no limit, technically or musically.”
FOM is now offering a three-concert mini-subscription for the final four concerts of the 2010-2011 season. A mini-subscription holder receives three concert tickets at a dramatically reduced price.
The FOM spring concerts are:
