Society offering scholarships to local teachers

By Staff | Mar 11, 2011

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is offering a new scholarship opportunity for local teachers.

The scholarship will cover half the tuition cost of a special, one-week summer camp for educators at the National Audubon Society’s famous Hog Island Camp in Maine.

The camp, July 14 through 19, is open to all K-12 teachers in the Eastern Panhandle and Washington County, Md.

The tuition will be $995, depending on lodging. The scholarship recipient will pay half this cost, plus his or her own transportation to and from Maine.

The scholarship application deadline is April 8.
