BALTIMORE, Md. — Native Shepherdstown artist Doug Kinnett, shown above, is one of 40 artists whose work is currently exhibited at Galerie Myrtis, 2224 N. Charles St. in Baltimore, Md.
Two of Kinnett’s oil paintings were selected for the exhibition. The paintings are from a new series of the artist’s work. These “Georgetown Paintings” are inspired by the architectural landscape of the Georgetown district in Washington, D.C. The images are abstract landscapes and feature layered rectangles and bright colors, reminiscent of paper collages.
The exhibition, “Emergence: Contemporary Artists to Watch,” features artists from across the country and is curated by Myrtis Bedolla, the proprietor of the gallery, and co-curated by Aden Weisel.
It is on view until April 30.
