Sunday Art Mart to open at CraftWorks
Beginning April 3, a Sunday stroll to the Shepherdstown Farmers Market can include a stop at the Art Mart at CraftWorks, 219 S. Duke St. The Sunday Art Mart at CraftWorks will be held each week 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The first Art Mart will feature paintings and drawings by Emily Vaughn, photography by Aundrea Humphreys and unique “upcycled” pieces by Roselyn Sanders.
“When we surveyed local craftspeople about the biggest challenges they face,” said David Lillard, executive director of the nonprofit CraftWorks, in a press release. “They told us having retail space to sell their works was their biggest need.”
The Art Mart is accepting applications from artists who wish to participate. Space is available for rent on a weekly or monthly basis. Gallery fees are $30 weekly or $100 monthly – with special discounted rates for students.
