Bus trip to visit World War II memorials in Washington, D.C.

The Shepherd University Department of History and the Washington Gateway Program are sponsoring a bus trip to visit World War II memorials in Washington D.C. on April 20.

Mark Snell, who teaches a course on World War II at Shepherd, will lead the tour. Tentative itinerary includes stops at the USMC War Memorial (Iwo Jima), FDR Memorial, several U.S. Army Divisional Memorials, National World War II Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

The cost of $50 per person includes transportation to and from the various sites in Washington in a deluxe coach bus and an on-board tour guide. Lunch is not provided, but a lunch stop will be made at an area where food can be purchased.

The group will leave Shepherd campus at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 6:30 p.m.
