The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library have announced the lineup of poets, readers and musicians who will perform at their 7th annual “Left of the Bank” music and poetry fundraiser April 8.

Ed Herendeen, director of Shepherd University’s Contemporary American Theater Festival, will read from a Sam Shepherd play scheduled to be performed at CATF in summer 2011. Poets will include Ed Zahniser, who also returns as Master of Ceremonies; Ethan Fischer, Caitlin Rausch and Christa Mastrangelo.

Don Oehser, the signature musician of “Left of the Bank,” and singer Laura First, who premiered to great acclaim at last year’s event, will provide the music.

All proceeds from the event will support Shepherdstown Library programs. Tickets, available at the library, cost $35. Contributions over and above that amount are welcome to provide additional support for the library. Anyone giving $100 or more will be a sponsor.

Wine and beer will be served, along with desserts and appetizers prepared by local culinary artists.

The event will take place at “Casa Carlos e Isabel,” the home of Carlos Niederhauser and Liz Wheeler, at 202 S. Princess St. (the old school-bus garage building with the purple roof).

Doors will open at 7 p.m. The program will start at 7:30 p.m.
