The Potomac Valley Audubon Society’s 10th annual “Race is for the Birds” is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 9 on the campus of the National Conservation Training Center near Shepherdstown.

Since the Training Center is a federal facility, it will be closed if the federal government shuts down, and race organizers are trying to find an alternative location for the event.
