Tuxedo Junction set for May 6 at the Bavarian Inn
The Friends of Music 4th annual Tuxedo Junction plans are well underway for the evening of May 6 at the historic Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown.
Since premiering in 2008, Tuxedo Junction has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the students of music at Shepherd University.
This year the Bavarian Inn will become the musical and culinary scene of Broadway, featuring works from “My Fair Lady,” “Sound of Music,” “Oklahoma,” “South Pacific,” “Phantom of the Opera” and other great moments in theatre history.
The acclaimed Shepherd Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Curtis Adams, will perform the legendary favorites. Culinary stations, in keeping with these legends and other unique twists and surprises, are in the works. A silent auction will add to the fun offering exciting “places to go and things to do.”
The TJ 2011 planning committee is chaired by Valerie Smith and includes Dan Anderson, Alan Gibson, Betty Lou Bryant, Scotty Turner, Many Ann Hammann, Heather Marshall, Helen and Jack Saum, Monica and Bill Bowen, Linda and Jim Walker, Sandy Sponaugle, Lisa Oswald, Joanna Moomaw, Cindy Schott, Ann Wayt, Alice Barkus, Dolores Lowe, Sue Kennedy and FOM President Neal Barkus.
