The Bavarian Inn maintains AAA?Four Diamond rating for 28 consecutive years
PITTSBURGH – The Bavarian Inn, 164 Shepherd Grade Rd., has been awarded the esteemed AAA Four Diamond lodging designation. Bavarian Inn has maintained the AAA Four Diamond rating for 28 consecutive years.
Lodgings at this level feature upscale accommodations. They typically offer an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.
The Bavarian Inn is part of a select group within the hospitality industry. For 2011, 1,349 lodgings and 756 restaurants received the Four Diamond Rating. These 2,105 establishments account for just 3.6 percent of the total 59,000 AAA Approved and Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
“Four Diamond establishments consistently deliver attentive service and notable offerings in high-quality, comfortable surroundings,” said Jim Lehman, executive vice president, AAA East Central, in a press release. “To achieve and maintain exceptional standards on a daily basis is a commendable achievement. AAA is pleased to recognize the Bavarian Inn as an outstanding member of the hospitality industry.”
The Bavarian Inn features 72 luxuriously appointed rooms overlook the Potomac River and feature gas fireplaces and whirlpool baths among their amenities. The alpine-style inn is only an hour from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, and minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and Charles Town Races and Slots.
The Dining Room at the Bavarian Inn received its 10th AAA Four Diamond Award. The restaurant features German and American fare ranging from the crowd-pleasing lump crab cakes to authentic Bavarian sauerbraten and wiener schnitzel. The restaurant features an award winning wine list and the area’s largest German beer selection.
