Bridge Gallery exhibit starts May 14

The 3rd annual Drawing Exhibit will open at The Bridge Gallery on Saturday, May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The early drawings of local artist Ben Summerford will be featured at this years drawing exhibition.
Known for his oil paintings and reputation as a dedicated and inspirational teacher, Summerford is a well established member of the art community. His drawings in this exhibit span many decades and take us back to the student days of this renowned artist and professor.
Summerford has exhibited in many group shows and has been featured in one person exhibitions at prestigious locations including the American University Museum, the Washington Country Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, Md.; Franz Bader Gallery, Washington, D.C., and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.
His career accomplishments include a 37-year association with American University as a teacher and chairman of the Art Department.
Contributing artists in this exhibition include local artists Michael Davis, Tim Kamer, Michael Austin and Kelly Carmichael. Also showing are Jacob Stilley, Ed Praybe, Barbara Heile and Jeffrey Colbert.
