By Staff | May 19, 2011

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Paintings by Shepherdstown artist, Doug Kinnett, have been selected for exhibition at The Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts in Fredericksburg, Va.

The exhibition, entitled “Abstractions,” is a juried exhibition of artwork by 30 regional artists. Juror Joseph DiBella, Distinguished Professor of Art at Mary Washington University, selected two paintings by Kinnett for the exhibition. They are “Georgetown Series No. 5 (Warehouse District)” and “Georgetown Series No. 6 (Foggy Bottom Sculpture Tour).”

Both paintings are oil on canvas, from a recent series of Kinnett’s abstract landscapes.

They feature layered rectangles and bright colors, reminiscent of paper collages.

The Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts presents “Abstractions” through May 27. This national all media, juried exhibit will be featured in the FCCA Frederick Gallery, 813 Sophia St., Fredericksburg.
