Community should continue to share ideas about library

By Staff | Jun 24, 2011

The Shepherdstown Public Library has received and started vetting through survey results and other community feedback regarding the new library project.

The library received feedback from over 200 local adults and 115 area 5th and 6th graders regarding the new building’s structure, services and amenities as well as ideas for uses for the current building.

With such wonderful ideas coming from the community and feedback that certainly will contribute to the overall design of the library, there is no better model for community engagement than this. Money is being raised through grants and private donations while patrons of the library dream big about what this library could be for them – a learning center, an art gallery, a sanctuary and so much more.

We at The Shepherdstown Chronicle hope that community members continue to engage in this project with the library staff, board and patrons. This is your library. Make it what you want it to be.
