PVAS to host trip to Shannondale Springs
The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is sponsoring a birding trip to the Shannondale Springs Wildlife Management Area on Saturday, July 2.
The trip is free and anyone with an interest is welcome to come along.
Participants should plan to meet at 7 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Martin’s Supermarket in the Jefferson Crossroads in Charles Town.
The Shannondale Springs property is managed by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. Its 1,361 acres include a mixture of forest, brush land and open fields covering rolling hills.
Participants should plan to wear comfortable walking or hiking boots and bring along bug spray, water and, as necessary, a hat, sunscreen or rain gear. Binoculars will be available for those who do not own any.
For more information, contact trip leader Sandy Sagalkin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 240-291-6465.

Various details of the trip could change depending on weather and recent bird sightings.
