Street Fest kicks off Saturday
The Shepherdstown Street Fest will kick off Saturday, June 25.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. Until 9 p.m. with musical acts starting at 11:30 a.m. The main stage will be located across from Shepherdstown Public Library, and groups will also take to a second stage behind the library in the beer garden between sets.
Kids activities will commence on McMurran lawn in the morning, with a magic show scheduled for 1 p.m.
Vendors will line German Street and emergency personnel will be present on King Street. Parking is available at Shepherd University’s wellness center and White Hall. The PanTram will be available to take attendees to Street Fest.
According to Shepherdstown Police Chief David Ransom, German Street and South King Street, from German Street to Back Alley, will be closed on June 25 from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. North King Street, from German to High Streets, will be closed from 6 p.m. June 24 to 10 p.m. June 25.
Ransom said traffic will be rerouted during these hours onto Washington and High Streets to Princess Street.
Admission is free to the event; however, attendees can participate in the first ever Street Fest raffle. More information about the raffle is available at www.shepherdstownstreetfest.org.
