RANSON – West Virginia University Hospitals East’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital officials announced July 1 that a signed sales agreement has been completed to acquire 50 acres of land from the Langlet family.

The property, located near Rt. 340 South in Charles Town, will be used for the future site of a comprehensive new medical campus to serve the residents of Jefferson County.

A strategic planning team has already started to create a list of potential services on the campus which may include a wellness center, urgent care center, patient and community health education facility, interdisciplinary medical library and skill development/simulation laboratory. The plan does include a replacement hospital and medical office building/ambulatory care center.
