Convenent Church continues food ministry

By Staff | Jul 21, 2011

Angel Food Ministries continues to serve the community by providing discounted groceries to anyone who would like to purchase them. Local churches participating in the program are excited to provide the July menu which includes three “signature” boxes. The “Bit O’ Blessing” box for $22, the “Bread of Life” box for $35 and the “Bountiful Blessing” box for $46.

The Bread of Life Box is designed to feed a family of four for one week. In order to make ordering more convenient, online ordering is available until 11:59 p.m. on July 24. Contact individual sites to find out their in house ordering deadlines and office hours as they vary by location.

We are offering three after school boxes designed for kids.

Also available is a convenience box that contains ten individual meals for $29 as well as three special boxes that include a variety of meats and fresh fruits and vegetables. The specials may be purchased with or without one of the main boxes. There are often additional boxes available in limited quantities only available online.

Like most retail grocery stores, Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program.

Distribution day for July will be July 30. Angel Food can be ordered and picked up at a variety of sites throughout the area. Orders must be picked up where the order is placed. Contact the Angel Food site for information about order deadlines, office hours and times for food pick-up.

The Shepherdstown location is Covenant Baptist Church, 7485 Shepherdstown Pike. Contact Kathy Miller at 304-876-2212 ext. 43 or angelfood@covenant-mail.com or visit www.covenantexperience.com.

Food that has not been picked up by customers becomes a donation to the church to be given out to someone in need. There are no refunds or credits for food that is not picked up. For this reason, it is strongly suggested that customers unable to afford for their food to become a donation to make arrangements prior to distribution day for someone else to pick up their order in the event of an emergency. To find out how your church can participate in the program, call the Fellowship C.o.B office at 304-263-7750.
