Remembering Michael 5K postponed
The Remembering Michael 5K, a race to raise funds to put towards a cure for cystic fibrosis, is postponed until the spring of 2012.
Originally scheduled for Sept. 3, race organizer Brett Hersh said in an email statement that organizing the event has proved to be “an especially daunting task” this time of year.
“Many of the participants and supporters have others events, vacations, and family obligations scheduled around this time,” Hersh said in the email statement sent out to supporters.
He added, “After consulting with runners, sponsors, volunteers and stakeholders, we have found unanimous agreement that changing the race date will not only help to solve these challenges – it will, more importantly, help us raise more money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.”
A specific date has yet to be determined, but Hersh did say that anyone already registered for the event will be contacted personally.
