Town council holds meeting
The Shepherdstown Town Council met and approved requests for Christmas in Shepherdstown and Shepherd University Homecoming events.
In a unanimous vote, the town council, led by Mayor Jim Auxer, approved plans for the Christmas in Shepherdstown parade and 250-year anniversary celebration kickoff.
The council also unanimously voted to approve use of German Street for the annual Shepherd University Homecoming parade scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22.
In his report Mayor Auxer gave updates regarding the Shepherdstown Library Project, the 250th celebration and the Town Hall Open House.
According to Auxer, the Town Hall Open House is scheduled for Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The council also voted to approve the re-appointment of Karene Motivans and David Rosen to the planning commission.
