SU volleyball downs Seton Hill
Shepherd University handed Seton Hill a 3-1 setback in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday evening. The Rams earned a 25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 28-26 victory.
Sophomore right side/middle hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood) had 11 kills with an impressive .500 attack percentage, while sophomore outside hitter Kayla Walker (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) also recorded 11 kills to pace the Rams.
Junior setter Sara Michael (Winchester, Va./James Wood/HCC) had 41 assists and nine digs. Freshman defensive specialist Trish Leigh (Hagerstown,
Md./Williamsport) posted a team-high 15 digs and added three aces, while junior outside hitter Lauren Gardner (Clarkson, Mich./Clarkson) added five kills and 14 digs. Corinne Gahagan had 20 kills and Olivia Mathews added 19 digs to lead Seton Hill.
Shepherd improves to 6-4, 1-0 in WVIAC action, while Seton Hill falls to 9-6,
0-1. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 7 p.m. match.
