Adams joins WVAHC

By Staff | Sep 23, 2011

West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, a nonprofit organization based in Charleston, has hired a new staff member to coordinate the organization’s efforts in the Eastern Panhandle.

Ashley Adams will serve as the organization’s regional coordinator for Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties. Adams has a master’s degree in social work and worked most recently with Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle.

“This new position will allow us to focus our efforts on the Eastern Panhandle, an area frequently overlooked in statewide campaigns,” said Perry Bryant, executive director of WVAHC, in a press release. “Until now, we just haven’t had the presence needed to get people from the Eastern Panhandle engaged in health care reform.”

WVAHC will hold a meeting in Shepherdstown on Wednesday, Oct. 5 to introduce the regional coordinator to the community and discuss future plans for the organization in the region.

The meeting, which will be free and open to the public, will be held at the Men’s Club in Shepherdstown at 6 p.m.

For more information about this meeting, please contact Adams at ash ley.wvahc@gmail.com.
