Alderson-Broaddus downs Shepherd volleyball

PHILIPPI, W.Va. Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC volleyball action at Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday. The Battlers gained a 25-21, 25-15, 25-23 victory.

Sophomore middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) had five kills and four blocks, while senior setter Lauren Jeschelnik (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) posted 12 assists.

Freshman defensive specialist Trish Leigh (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) posted a team-high 11 digs and sophomore outside hitter Kayla Walker (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) added four kills and four digs.

Shepherd falls to 6-6, 1-2 in WVIAC action, while Alderson-Broaddus improves to 5-10, 3-1. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a 7 p.m. match.
