Events show visitors Shepherdstown’s uniqueness
This is one of the best times of the year in Shepherdstown.
The seasons have just shifted, and we’re hosting the first of our big events this fall.
The 3rd Annual Freedom’s Run will play host to thousands from near and far, and Shepherdstown and its people get to show the guests a good time.
This event does not just mean publicity for the festivities itself, but economic impact for the town. Hotels, restaurants and downtown businesses will be full of locals and visitors alike. Tom Shantz, logistics manager and co-director of Freedom’s Run, said the event brings in nearly $1 million in revenue for the town each year.
It’s events like Freedom’s Run, Christmas in Shepherdstown, Streetfest and other signature events that create a buzz around this little town.
People come here, experience the town and all it has to offer and want to come back.
This weekend is not just about promoting health and heritage amongst those running the races in this year’s Freedom’s Run; it’s also about showing people the Shepherdstown experience – and making them want more.
