Today, Sept. 30, Freedom’s Run participants will pick up packets at the event’s expo at the Shepherd University Wellness Center, 164 University Drive, from noon until 8 p.m.

Start times and locations for the race are as follows:

Marathon – 7 a.m. at Harpers Ferry National Historic Park

Half marathon – 8:05 a.m. at Shepherd University

5K – 8:30 a.m. at Shepherd University

10K – 8:40 a.m. at Shepherd University

Kids Fun Run – 11:30 a.m. at Shepherd University

Friday evening, participants and Shepherdstown citizens are invited to the pasta dinner at the Shepherdstown Men’s Club War Memorial Building, at the corner of German and King Streets.

The dinner takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets, sold at the expo and the dinner, are $10 for adults, $5 for children 17 and under, and children under 5 get in free.

Proceeds benefit the Shepherdstown Business Association; Shepherd’s Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports Department; and the Rotaract Club of Shepherd.

Complimentary parking will be available at the Shepherd parking lots on West Campus and East Campus, on the corner of Princess and High Streets.
