WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Shepherd University fell in a pair of volleyball matches in final day action at the 2011 Pepsi Bash at the Beach on Saturday. The Rams dropped a 30-28, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18 decision to Carson-Newman and also suffered a 25-21, 25-14, 25-18 setback to Barry.

Junior outside hitter Kasey Mercier (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales Academy) had 10 kills, while junior setter Sara Michael (Winchester, VA/James Wood/HCC) added 22 assists and 12 digs against Carson-Newman.

Michael added a 17-assist effort against Barry, while freshman right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, OH/Willoughby South) had a team-high six kills.

Shepherd drops to 11-9 on the season. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to West Chester for a 7 p.m. match.
