WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-1 decision to West Chester at West Chester on Tuesday night. The Golden Rams gained a 25-23, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18 victory.

Junior Lauren Gardner (Clarkson, MI/Clarkson) recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs to pace the Rams.

Junior outside hitter Kasey Mercier (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales Academy) posted 20 digs, seven kills, and three aces. Senior setter Lauren Jeschelnik (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) had 23 assists and two aces, while freshman setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg,MD/Smithsburg) added 13 digs.

Shepherd drops to 11-10 on the season, while West Chester improves to 15-9. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host West Virginia State for a 7 p.m. conference match.
