Cater discusses moving forward at Ram Chalk Talk
Shepherd University Football head coach Monte Cater discussed losses and expectations for this weekend’s return home at Friday’s Ram Chalk Talk.
Cater discussed the Ram plan to recover on Saturday after two back-to -back losses at Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan.
“We want to get back on the winning track,” Cater said.
Though Cater, who is in his 25th season leading the Rams, said he doesn’t like to dwell on the negative, he acknowledged that the Oct. 1 game against Concord marked a new low for the team.
“It was the worst rushing game that we’ve had I think since I’ve been here,” he said.
Though the Rams suffered a second loss against West Virginia Wesleyan last Saturday, Cater said the team, “got some balance back.”
“Nobody likes to lose. We’re not used to losing,” he said.
Looking forward to the game against West Liberty Saturday, Cater said he remains optimistic.
“This is a group that’s going to go ahead and rebound,” he said.
The Rams are currently ranked 4-2 overall and 2- 2 in division matches. The Rams will play West Liberty Saturday, Oct. 15 at noon at Ram Stadium.
