Men’s soccer falls to Wesleyan
BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Matthew Brown scored on a header off an assist from Liam Maloney at the 21:12 mark to lead West Virginia Wesleyan to a 1-0 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC men’s soccer action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.
The Bobcats had an 11-4 advantage in shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper Edgar Lopez Zuniga (Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery) had five saves for the Rams, while Ryan McDougall (2) and Justin McAtee (1) combined for three saves for the Bobcats.
Shepherd falls to 6-8-1, 3-4-0 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 10-4-1, 6-2-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Charleston for a 3 p.m. contest.
