Mining talk set for Nov. 4
Shepherd University’s Appalachian Studies program will present Mountaintop Removal and the Community on Friday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies. The program, which will feature speakers from the Keepers of the Mountain Foundation, Shepherd’s Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences and the Appalachian Studies Board, will examine mountaintop removal and environmental issues facing the state of West Virginia.
