SU volleyball downed by WJU

WHEELING, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to conference frontrunner Wheeling Jesuit in WVIAC volleyball action at Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals gained a 25-14, 27-25, 25-12 victory.

Sophomore middle hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) led the Rams with nine kills, while senior setter Lauren Jeschelnik (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) recorded team-highs of 20 assists and nine digs.

Allissa Ware had 12 kills and seven digs to lead Wheeling Jesuit.

Shepherd falls to 15-14, 8-5 in conference play, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 27-3, 13-0. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Wilmington for a 6 p.m. match.
