By Staff | Nov 10, 2011

The Historic Shepherdstown Museum, displaying its traditional 19th century Christmas decorations, will be open during the Christmas in Shepherdstown weekends. The decorations include two very special mechanical Christmas toys.

As a special event, on December 3 after the Christmas parade, at 12, 12:30 and 1:00, the Museum will offer Christmas stories for children and even a visit from Santa Claus.

The Museum will be open for all visitors on Saturdays November 26 and December 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays November 27 and December 4 from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Shepherdstown Museum is located near the corner of German and Princess Streets The Museum tells the history of Shepherdstown and of the Entler Hotel, in which it is located. On display are 18th and 19th century crafts, other early artifacts, and a half-scale replica of James Rumsey’s early steamboat, made by local craftsmen.
