According to West Virginia State Police Senior Trooper S.R. Smith, investigator of the accident, a preliminary report shows that on late Tuesday morning, a red Toyota Corola, traveling north on 480 and turning onto Potomac Farm Road, failed to yield to a silver Kia Spectra, which was traveling south.

Shepherdstown Police Department Chief David Ransom, who also responded to the scene, said that both cars were then pushed into a red Chevy pickup truck, which was sitting on Potomac Farms Road at the light.

According to Smith, two injuries resulted in the accident, and the injured parties were being transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
