SU names VP of administration, finance
Deborah Judd, of Frederick, Md., has been named the vice president for administration and finance at Shepherd University, effective Feb. 15.
Reporting to the president and serving as a member of Shepherd’s executive staff, Judd will provide strategic and collaborative financial and administrative leadership and will supervise cash management, finance, procurement, information technology, auxiliaries and facilities operations. As the vice president for administration and finance, she will serve as the primary support to the university’s leadership in identifying, obtaining and allocating resources for the institution.
Judd is the associate vice president, fiscal and auxiliary services, at Frederick Community College, a position she has held since 2007. She also has served as interim vice president for administration and associate vice president of finance at FCC.
From 1994 to 2005, Judd was employed in a variety of roles by Builders FirstSource, a lumber/light manufacturing distributor located in 11 states. She started with the company as assistant controller, moving into the roles of director of corporate accounting/controller, director of accounting operations and assistant corporate controller/assistant treasurer.
During her career she also has served as staff accountant for KPMG Peat Marwick, Baltimore, Md., and Residential Services Corporation of America, Frederick, Md.
Judd earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University and holds membership in the American Institute of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs.
