By Staff | Jan 27, 2012

Professional SportsCare & Rehab, located in Shepherdstown and Charles Town, has hired Katherine Lewis, DPT, ATC as a physical therapist in their Charles Town clinic.

Lewis earned her doctorate of physical therapy at the University of Saint Augustine for Health Services, as well as her bachelor of science in kinesiology, athletic training and exercise science from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.

“Katherine’s diverse experience makes her a great asset to the Professional SportsCare and Rehab team,” said Clinical Director Christopher Horowicz, DPT, ACT. “We know that her talents will be valuable to both our staff and patients.”

Along with her degrees, Lewis has completed clinical rotations in Valdosta, Ga., Daytona Beach, Fla., Cedar City, Utah and in Statesboro, Ga. Lewis was a teacher’s assistant and Wellness Center fitness staff member at the University of St. Augustine.

“All of my experiences have helped develop who I am as a physical therapist. If I had to pick just one, it would be my experience as an athletic trainer,” said Lewis.

Lewis said the position offers many opportunities for her as a young professional, allowing her to expand her creativity and to use her educational experiences.

“Chris Horowicz has invested in me and valued having me as a part of the team from day one,” said Lewis.

Lewis added that is it very encouraging having wonderful people supporting her at the clinic in Charles Town.
