‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’: Meet-and-greets to be held throughout December
RANSON — Santa will be taking time out of his busy holiday schedule to enjoy multiple events with children and their families in Jefferson County.
For those trying to schedule a local visit with Santa, the options are many. He will visit Independent Fire Company in Ranson on Saturday, to enjoy breakfast before participating in both Shepherdstown and Charles Town parades. The breakfast runs from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire station located at 200 West 2nd Avenue in Ranson. Cost for the meal is $7 for those seven-years-old and older; $3 for three-to-six-year-olds and free for those two-and-under.
Santa will visit Clearbrook Fire and Rescue on Sunday, to share pancakes with his friends. In addition, the fire station will host the annual Christmas Bazaar in conjunction with the breakfast. Pancakes will be served from 7 a.m. to noon, while the bazaar will continue until 3 p.m. The station is located at 1256 Brucetown Road, Clearbrook, Va.
On Dec. 14, Santa will make appearances at several locations. Friendship Fire Company in Harpers Ferry, located at 1050 W. Washington Street, hosts breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.
Middleway Fire Department will also host Santa on Dec. 14, with a Breakfast with Santa event from 9-11 a.m. at their station located at 110 Dark Hill Road in Middleway. Cost for the breakfast is $5 per person with children three and under eating free. The menu consists of pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, tater tots, fruit and drinks.
Chick-Fil-A in Ranson will also host a Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event will feature crafts, face painting and a photo opportunity with Santa Claus. For those seeking to see Santa in Shepherdstown specifically, head over to the Blue Moon Caf on Dec. 14, starting at 8 a.m. The Shepherdstown Lions Club will host this Breakfast with Santa, and the proceeds will benefit Shepherdstown Elementary School for the purchase of iPads. The buffet breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage links, sausage gravy, biscuits and a drink. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 4-12 and free for children three-and-under.
On Dec. 14, a lunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be held at the Ranson Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join Ranson Parks and Recreation for this year’s Ranson Reindeer Games, featuring pizza from Pizza City, games and activities provided by Harvest Pointe Community Church and a photo opportunity with the Clauses. This public event is free to children 10-and-under and $2 for children 10-and-older. Proceeds from this event will be used for Ranson Parks and Recreation’s community program development.
