Deputies sworn in

KEARNEYSVILLE — Newly sworn-in deputies Tristan Lutman, left, and Hunter Ray, stand with Jefferson County Sheriff Tom Hansen. Lutman, 25, joins the force after serving as an officer with the Clarke County (Va.) Sheriff’s Department and Ray comes from the Berkeley Springs Police Department. Both deputies were raised by law enforcement officers. Lutman’s father, Capt. Todd Lutman with the Ranson Police Department, has been an officer for 30 years. Lt. Brandon Ray, Pentagon Police Department and formerly Charles Town Police Department, has served for 24 years. Both Lutman and Ray attribute their desire to serve in law enforcement to their fathers.
