Parks &?Rec offering classes
The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation begins the new year with a variety of class offerings for all ages. Currently the department is taking registrations for gymnastics for children ages 1-12 with beginner to advanced classes being offered on Sundays and Mondays starting Feb. 5.
Dance class registrations are also currently being accepted for ages 2 and up. Tiny tot, ballet, jazz and hip hop are among those available. Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning in January.
Beginning January 12, Little Dribblers will be offered for those ages 3-5. Teaching basketball skills, the classes are held on Wednesdays. Karate classes for those 3 and older also begin in January for home school, preschool, beginner and intermediates while Smart Soccer is offered for those 3-5.
Baby sign language is an offering to those two and under beginning Jan. 25 with day and evening classes available.
Other upcoming classes include Curious George, space adventure, science and brick building. All classes begin in January.
For the older crowd, late night adult soccer begins Jan. 10 and runs each Wednesday evening from 9 to 11 p.m. for 10 weeks.
